Description
This collective monograph of an interdisciplinary nature critically examines the concept of the universality of human rights from the perspectives of law, political science, sociology, history, and philosophy, focusing particularly on the issue of the status of human rights as a concept postulated from local positions in the Euro-Atlantic part of the world, which, however, has global ambitions, and its clash with other normative concepts that exist at various levels in a globalized world (religious systems, local traditions and customs, and so on). These global interactions, which are continuously gaining intensity and significance, are examined especially concerning their local manifestations in the countries of the European Union and in the search for solutions and proposals for possible resolutions for the public debate taking place in the Czech Republic.
