Description
The publication focuses on the decoration of choral manuscripts from the 16th century. The first part is dedicated to the personality of the scribe Jan Táborský, who lived from 1499 to 1572, and the most prominent illuminators who contributed to the decoration of songbooks of Czech provenance during the 16th century. Attention is also given to the graphic templates of Martin Schongauer, Albrecht Dürer, Bernard Salomon, or domestic 'melantrich prints', as well as to iconography and ornamental decoration. The second part of the work consists of a catalog of musical manuscripts that can be linked to the personality of the scribe entrepreneur Jan Táborský from Klokotská Hora for some reason.
