Description
The fourth volume of the Works of Jakub Deml contains the first collection of the author's books in a distinctive genre that combines diary, document, and fiction; a genre for which he later used the famous and controversial term 'Šlépěje'. The volume includes three of Deml's books that precede the creation of the Šlépěje series: Rosnička (1912), Domů (1913), and Pro budoucí poutníky a poutnice (1913), as well as the first three anthologies of the 'šlépějové' series: Šlépěje I (1917), Šlépěje II (1918), and Šlépěje III (1919). The volume is accompanied by an afterword, an editorial note, translations of all foreign-language passages, explanations of realia, an index of names, and reproductions of the covers of the original editions.
