Description
The book version of the successful educational course Czech Language Newly from A to Z, which was published in the spring of 2015 in Lidové noviny. In a total of thirty lessons, developed by the authorial team of the Institute for the Czech Language of the Czech Academy of Sciences, readers can become acquainted with new, interesting, or problematic phenomena in the Czech language. The book offers explanations of general topics in accordance with the Academic Handbook of the Czech Language, answers to frequent or remarkable questions addressed to the language advisory service, discussions on various dialectal expressions and the origins of selected personal and geographical names, and a section called Czech in Work, which presents updates in the current standard for document formatting. The practical publication also includes exercises on the topics covered.
