Description

The publication analyzes the beginnings of teacher education for lower schools in the Habsburg monarchy at the end of the 18th century and in the first half of the 19th century, as well as in the regions of Southeast Europe in the 19th century. The collective monograph is divided into six chapters, systematically and historically analyzing the issue of the professionalization of teacher education in Central and Southeast Europe. Among other things, it addresses the beginnings of teacher education in the center of pedagogical philanthropy – in the German lands – and also examines examples of the influence of philanthropic ideas in selected European countries. It is published in the History series.
