Description
The book analyzes the life and political activities of Subhas Chandra Bose, one of the most significant Indian politicians of modern times, who remains virtually unknown to the broader Czech public. Based on the study of sources and literature, the authors present Bose's personality and his lifelong struggle for India's independence from British rule, his dramatic political career that led this national leader to seek assistance from the Axis powers during World War II. Even under these circumstances, Bose remained primarily an Indian patriot and radical nationalist, whose priority was always the freedom of his homeland, which he tragically did not live to see due to a fatal accident in August 1945. The book is intended for anyone interested in India, modern Indian history, and the issues of World War II in Asia.
