Description
Writing is my lifelong obsession – first it was academic writing, then more popular-scientific literature and journalism, and as I grow older, I begin to reflect on my inner feelings through writing and communicate with people through text," admits Fedor Gál on his website. For the title A Few Days, this is an apt characterization. Among the topics that have long interested the author and about which he continues to think and especially write (recently primarily in the form of a blog) are racism, civic activism and solidarity and its limits, the phenomenon of the crowd and newly the so-called e-crowd, collaboration, corruption, and populism in politics, etc. Over time, reflections on aging, dying, death, and God have been added to these themes. The mosaic of older texts and the author's current comments on them, excerpts from works by the 9th-century Chinese Buddhist monk Shū-lā-cé and the Portuguese Fernando Pessoa, as well as very personal glosses, compose a picture of the inner world of a creative personality who does not present her truths to readers but invites them to think and potentially engage in dialogue.
