Description
PhDr. Jiří Čutka (1930 – 1993), professor at Charles University, journalist, bricklayer, well driller, construction worker.
Stubborn South Bohemian, a good and hardworking person, a life optimist, one of the first signatories of Charter 77, who – when needed – was able to help others like few could. His friend Karel Bartošek writes about him as the "salt of the earth," and Bohumil Hrabal mentions his civic courage.
In this second (and last) book of memories, Jiří Čutka describes not only his childhood experiences but also the life twists in his adult years. The book (a bibliophile edition) is published by his son Jiří J. Čutka in an edition of 200 copies and illustrated by academic painter Ivan Straka.
The previous book titled "I'm Just Writing" was positively evaluated by historian Petr Čornej. Jan Lukeš included it in the "Recommended" section of the Czech Television literature review "Třistatřticettři."
