Description
The book Plantlovers is being published. Invisible Botany of the Urban Environment maps the current phenomenon of houseplants in the context of the activities of the Prague initiative Haenke. It places this phenomenon within broader social, cultural, and economic contexts in an effort to change ingrained perceptions of plants - both at home and in public spaces. It is accompanied by documentary photographs by Vojtěch Veškrna, the winner of this year's Czech Grand Design awards, in a unique graphic design by typographer Jolana Sýkorová. This is complemented by interviews with foreign authors, curators, and gardeners such as British journalist Alice Vincent, design historian Penny Sparke, the French design studio d-o-t-s, and fashion designer Tereza Rosalie Kladošová.
