After Tomáš Halík stormed the bestseller list with "The Time of Empty Churches," a profound yet understandable analysis of the church under pandemic conditions, his magnum opus, which he has been internally working on for a long time, will be published in spring 2022. It describes the current situation of churches in the secularized West as the afternoon of Christianity: a time of upheaval, not least due to Corona, but one that enables a new solidarity. Thus, the "midday lull" of the churches becomes the birth hour of a more mature, less self-centered Christianity that finally fulfills its purpose for the world.
