This fourth volume of a six-part German textbook for career-oriented language instruction is suitable for learners who use German in their profession or are preparing to do so at a vocational school. It is recommended for company courses, language schools, and higher and secondary vocational schools. The course leads to level B1. Each lesson contains a two-page section called “Im Alltag”, presenting general language topics such as travel and means of transport, followed by a two-page section that develops the same topic for communication in a professional setting, such as a business trip. The “Magazin” offers a varied selection of illustrated supplementary texts for reading and listening, including “Das Navigationsgerät”. Each lesson also includes an overview of grammar and communication, plus four pages of exercises covering grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. Recordings for the pronunciation exercises are provided on the enclosed audio CD. A “Wörterlernheft” supports practice of the vocabulary covered, while the learning glossary lists the vocabulary from each lesson, an example sentence, and space for students to write the translation in their native language. The teacher’s guide contains recommended teaching procedures, listening-text transcripts, and an answer key.
