Description
It is the time after the climate wars: Those who are rich have uploaded themselves into the virtual Godland. Real people like Yolanda and her friends live far out in the ocean on server islands and are responsible for the AI supercomputers there. As a reward for their work, access to the virtual paradise is promised to them after twenty years of service. Until then, their lives are determined by the AI named Godmother. She controls the lives of the young people: She supervises, commands, and punishes, but also ensures a good atmosphere and a functioning social structure. For Yolanda, she is almost like a mother. But when Godmother forces her into a terrible lie, doubts arise, and she wonders: Is the whole system just a fake?
