Five women reluctantly set out along a muddy track through a rugged landscape. Only four emerge. Federal Police Agent Aaron Falk is especially interested in the missing bushwalker, Alice Russell, who is the whistleblower in his latest case and knows secrets about her company and the people who work there. Instead of encouraging teamwork, the hike leaves the women telling Falk a story of suspicion, violence and collapsing trust. As he investigates Alice's disappearance, it becomes clear that some dangers may run far deeper than anyone realized.
