Description
Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire are intelligent, charming and resourceful children with pleasant facial features, but they are exceptionally unlucky. Their next ordeal involves a car accident, a terrible smell, a deadly serpent, a long knife, a brass reading lamp and the reappearance of someone they had hoped never to see again. Lemony Snicket’s darkly comic series of unfortunate events continues in the tradition of great storytellers from Dickens to Dahl, combining literary wit, irreverence, hilarious situations and deft craftsmanship. Despite its wretched contents, the series has sold 60 million copies worldwide and been made into a Hollywood film starring Jim Carrey, while an even worse future is promised by the forthcoming Netflix series directed by Barry Sonnenfeld.
