Description
Arkady Renko has been confined to a desk job by his superiors, but when Karina, a supporter of politician Leonid Lebedev and member of the Forum, goes missing, her father asks him to find her. Soon afterwards, Alex, a close friend of Arkady’s son and another Forum member, is found dead. The night before his murder, Alex sent Arkady a cryptic message containing three pictures of Russian writers. Meanwhile, Arkady has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, and its physical and psychological effects are taking their toll. As rebellion grows in Russia and new values clash with old regimes, Renko must uncover the link between the missing woman, the dead man and the mysterious message. This time, he is fighting not only an impenetrable political system but also his own failing health.
