Description
This historical queer romance follows Nicolas-Marc, Comte de Valois de La Motte, who is making an impression on Society while trying to restore the reputation of his French mother, wrongly convicted of a notorious crime. At least, that is his story. Titus Pilcrow is an unassuming shopkeeper who accidentally marries an immensely wealthy woman on her deathbed and becomes the target of every conman and beggar in London, including Nico. Broke and desperate, Nico attaches himself to Titus in the hope of getting rich, but falls in love with the man he intends to deceive. Nico believes they can still find a happy ending together, if he can escape the web of his own lies.
