Description
Olivie Blake’s intimate novel explores the nature of love, what it means to be unwell, and how to face the fractures within yourself while continuing to love. In Chicago, two people meet by chance in the armory of the Art Institute. Aldo Damiani is a doctoral student who manages his destructive thoughts through compulsive calculations about time travel, while Charlotte Regan is a bipolar counterfeit artist undergoing court-ordered psychotherapy. Their circumstances do not change after they meet, but everything else becomes slightly different. Obsessive and eccentric, both struggle to be without each other from the moment they meet. He is a clinically depressed, antisocial theoretician, while she is a manipulative liar with a history of self-sabotage. As they fall more deeply in love, their reliance on each other becomes increasingly troubling. This literary study of time and space is also an unusual and complicated love story.
