Description
The new Czech edition of the unfinished novel by Prague-born Franz Kafka (1883-1924). The most famous, world-renowned representative of German literary Prague, one of the most significant prose writers of 20th-century world literature. Emil Utitz wrote about Kafka: "What stuck in my memory is not individual statements or events, but rather an almost touching image of a slender, tall, boyish man who looked so quiet, gentle, and almost saintly, who was good and smiled somewhat awkwardly, who readily acknowledged anyone's merits, and yet was always somehow distant and foreign." The translation is based on the original manuscript version without editorial interventions by Max Brod, translated by Dr. Josef Čermák. The book, designed by Michal Cihlář, is accompanied by illustrations by Jaroslav Róna for the film 'Amerika.'
