Description
Working as an intern at a New York fashion magazine in the summer of 1953, Esther Greenwood stands on the threshold of her future, while also approaching a darkness that makes her world increasingly unreal. Her vision of everyday life in the sultry city, her troubled male friends and the hot dinner dances shifts and shimmers. Sylvia Plath’s only novel is partly based on her own life and offers a darkly funny, razor-sharp portrait of 1950s society.
