Description
Eric Carle’s classic English-language picture book follows a very hungry caterpillar that hatches from a tiny egg on a sunny Sunday. It eats its way through an increasing variety and quantity of food over the days of the week, yet remains hungry until it finally makes a cocoon and falls asleep. A few weeks later, it emerges as a butterfly. Bold, colourful illustrations and simple text introduce the days of the week, sets of up to ten objects and the stages of the caterpillar’s transformation. Die-cut pages show what the caterpillar eats each day, while the final double-page picture celebrates the colour and beauty of nature.
