Description
Evan Smoak faces his most complex mission yet, with his usual methods unavailable to him. Once a black-ops assassin known as Orphan X, Evan broke with the government programme and went underground, using his skills to help desperate people with nowhere else to turn. When Luke Devine, one of the most powerful men in the world, suffers a psychological crisis, Evan travels to the East Coast to help him. There he learns that a young woman has been kidnapped from the New York City subway and is in danger. After Evan and his team find her assaulted and abandoned, he sets out to identify the young men responsible. The woman insists that he abandon his usual methods, especially killing, but mounting threats come from every direction. As the mission takes Evan from coast to coast and from the poorest parts of society to the richest, Orphan X must find a way to protect the innocent, avenge the victimised and balance justice with mercy.
