Happy House 1 Metodická Příručka (3rd) – Roberts Lorena

The third edition of the successful Happy House English course is designed for young school-age children who are beginning to learn English. The course follows the adventures of a cheerful family consisting of Mum, Dad, twins Polly and Jack, little Daisy, the cat Otto and two mischievous mice, Spike and Ruby, who live beneath the floor. For students, it includes a coursebook with new pages focusing on culture and festivals, motivating activities for learning English at home and an emphasis on links between subjects; a workbook with motivational stickers for recording new learning; cut-outs; an audio CD with songs and stories from Happy House; and a Happy House website. For teachers, the Teacher’s Book is in Czech and provides lesson plans, a bank of games and an alphabetically arranged English-Czech dictionary with phonetic transcription. The course also includes a Tools disc for classroom presentation, with facilities for creating worksheets and other digital teaching programmes, a DVD with videos about British life and animated stories featuring Spike and Ruby, Class Audio CDs with karaoke versions of the songs, and a Teacher’s Resource Pack containing puppets, 40 story cards, a poster and picture cards. The Teacher’s Resource Book provides photocopiable worksheets for every lesson, teacher’s notes, photocopiable story foldables, and picture and word cards for children. An Evaluation Book contains tests for each lesson, a final listening and speaking test, assessment tables, a sheet for evaluating children’s attitudes and progress, and advice on maintaining portfolios. The Teacher’s Resource Pack is suitable for both the New Edition and the Third Edition. The Teacher’s Resource Top-up Pack adds 20 picture cards for the songs, seven lesson posters and a poster of geometric shapes.
