Description

This Czech-language issue of the children’s magazine Raketa explores everything furry, from the yeti to grandpa’s ears. Children learn why animals bristle their fur, who is called “furry” and why, and where they may one day find something growing on their own bodies. They discover Czech expressions about skin, feathers and fur, make a yeti, find out what lanugo is and what a lion’s mane is useful for, and investigate who stole rare cacti. The English glossary is furry this time too, as are the regular comics. The issue also includes a trip to Budapest, and its cover is illustrated by Nikola Logosová. A special Parent’s Notebook, published free for subscribers in cooperation with EDUin, is included as a bonus. Raketa’s themed issues offer comics, paper cut-outs, stories, recipes, trip tips, entertaining and educational activities, puzzles and games for children aged 5 to 10. The magazine contains no advertising and focuses on visual appeal, creativity and humour, working with young artists and authors from the Czech Republic and abroad.
