Act No. 52/2025 Coll. which amends Act No. 117/1995 Coll. In Section 12, paragraph 1, letter d), the definition of a foreign higher education institution is removed in light of the amendments to the Higher Education Act; the Act on State Social Support will then refer to this term in Section 12, paragraph 1, letter d) solely by referencing (through footnote No. 70) the provisions of the Higher Education Act. Following the changes to Section 93a and subsequent provisions of the Higher Education Act regarding providers of foreign higher education in the territory of the Czech Republic, it is further necessary to reflect in the Act on State Social Support a formulation change in Section 12, paragraph 1, letter e) concerning the continuous preparation of a child for future employment through studies in a higher education program at a foreign higher education institution, regarding the case of providing such education by a Czech legal entity. Additionally, a new paragraph 4 is added to Section 12, whereby the application of the rules established in the Act on the Organization and Implementation of Social Security for the management of the status of studies on par for pension insurance purposes will also apply to decisions made for the purposes of state social support.
