The band started in 1992 when they called themselves Sean Dowdell & His Friends. Under this name, they released a demo tape in 1993. In 1993, they also settled on the name Grey Daze. In their local area - Arizona, they were very popular, sometimes even played on local radio. They frequently performed in various clubs. They never signed any contracts.
