Description
After nearly forty years of marriage, JOAN and JOE CASTLEMAN (Glenn Close and Jonathan Pryce) form a perfectly complementary couple. Where Joe is laid-back, Joan is elegant. Where Joe is vain, Joan is modest. And where Joe enjoys media attention as a prominent American writer, Joan impresses with her intelligence, charm, and diplomacy. His literary star has been shining since the moment he met Joan in the late 1950s. Now Joe is about to receive the Nobel Prize for his acclaimed and prolific work. The film THE WIFE intertwines the story of a couple full of youthful passion and energy with a portrait of a marriage spanning over thirty years, which has not been without life compromises.
