Description
The play Sleeping Disorders, which premiered in October 2010 at the Prague Theatre Na zábradlí, is a masterfully constructed drama for three actresses. In an indeterminate place, after death, English novelist Virginia Woolf, American poet Sylvia Plath, and eccentric millionaire Ivana T find themselves. In enforced coexistence, during which they must also take care of very mundane household chores including cooking and sewing, each character reveals – often against her will – what she has tried to silence from herself. And although all the drama unfolds only in the dialogues of the three characters, the play is full of unexpected twists, suddenly revealed animosities, and unexpected affections, defiance of life, and reconciliation with it. Sleeping Disorders was staged in a significantly shortened version; this audio version presents it to readers in its entirety.
