Description
The plot of the author's story with a detective twist takes place in medieval Prague, and the main character is still Václav from the Black Horse, the under-bailiff of Old Town Prague. In July 1401, an army of the margraves of Meissen lies before Prague, and the lords and knights who were supposed to defend the land have united in the Lords' Union and besieged the city from the other side. The Prague burghers had to abandon their workshops and shops to defend their families and property on the ramparts of the Prague walls. Amid dramatic events, there is a treacherous opening of the city gates and an attempt to acquire Longinus's spear, which was temporarily held by Emperor Charles IV. Under-bailiff Václav is tasked with uncovering the traitor. He does not yet suspect that a beggar will get involved in the final battle...
