Description
Shouldn't today - just like my once unquestionable, many-year love for Veronika (however tragically it ended), as well as my once unquestionable, even longer friendship with Martin (which also later failed) - be more of a reason for celebration than mourning? Shouldn't my usual anger towards Veronika and Martin - as well as my justified sense of injustice - perhaps sometimes be replaced by simple gratitude? Gratitude for the fact that I experienced many years of love and friendship at all? Today marks the beginning of meteorological autumn, a poetic time of painful autumn fields. Well, we'll see. The year 2020 was probably the strangest and unfortunately often the most painful period that a large part of the inhabitants of this planet has ever experienced. A year that changed everything - even though it was mostly canceled. Three hundred sixty-five days in the life of Czech society, three hundred sixty-five days in the life of a writer, father, brother, son, partner, or citizen of Sázava. One year of Michal Viewegh.
