Description
In the near future, the most popular television programme is The Running Man, a deadly competition in which contestants known as runners must survive for 30 days while being hunted by professional killers. Every step they take is broadcast to a hungry audience, and the financial reward increases with each passing day. Ben Richards (Glen Powell), a working man desperate to save his sick daughter, is persuaded by the show’s charming but ruthless producer Dan Killian (Josh Brolin) to join the programme. Ben’s defiance, instinct and determination soon make him an unexpected audience favourite and a threat to the entire system. As the ratings rise, so does the danger. Ben must outwit not only the hunters but also a nation addicted to watching him fall.
