Description
Director Howard Hawks reunites with John Wayne, who leads a group of experienced professional hunters in Africa. This time, however, they do not use bullets: they capture dangerous animals with sturdy ropes and film them for zoos and circuses. It is a thrilling, life-threatening profession in which people face wild beasts at close quarters. “Hatari!” means “danger” in Swahili and also captures the spirit of this grand cinematic adventure. Hardy Krüger, Red Buttons and Elsa Martinelli appear in supporting roles, accompanied by Henry Mancini’s sparkling score, including the famous pop hit “Baby Elephant Walk.”
