Description
The story takes place a year before the outbreak of World War II, immediately after the signing of the Munich Agreement in 1938. Against the backdrop of historical events, it follows the fate of a Jewish family as they come to terms with the impending events. The power of the story is enhanced by the contrasting portrayal, where a poetic story of people unfolds against the hinted tragic background of historical weeklies and radio news entering the film. The film aims to bring today's viewer closer to the historical figure of Mr. Nicholas Winton, whose great deed comes to life again in the fictional story of the Silberstein family. This brave Englishman came to Prague at the end of 1938 to carry out his plan to save 669 Jewish children, who would surely not have escaped the tragic fate prepared for them by Nazi ideology.
