Four separate notebooks, in which all the material for writing training is developed and prescribed. The notebooks contain exercises on letter elements, practice of lowercase and uppercase letters, syllables, words, and sentences through copying, dictation, and self-dictation (i.e., writing based on pictures, up to tasks where students complete variously challenging assignments (form sentences, fill in letters in incomplete words, write out words or sentences from a read article, etc.). The greatest advantage for teachers is the unbroken concurrency of reading and writing instruction, ensured by references to pages in the Living Alphabet and the Primer, to which the material is related.
