Enter Radiantwood, build your forest in a growing grid, and strategically place wisps and tree pieces to fulfil their specific wishes. This abstract strategy game is played over three rounds and requires careful planning and adaptation to constantly changing scoring conditions. Four kinds of wisps have their own wishes, while five wish-card decks provide variable objectives: one for each type of wisp and one for the trees. At the start of each game, one card is chosen from each relevant option, with simpler cards marked by one paw available for beginners. Players draft pieces by taking turns choosing wisps from the central Pool; each wisp is linked to two possible shapes made from the wisp and tree pieces, and the chosen shape must be added to the player’s forest grid. The grid grows from 4×4 in the first round to 6×6 in the third. Each player also has a Cat, which can be hidden when ready to refresh the wisps in the Pool or select any shape from it instead of one of the two neighbouring the chosen wisp. A Tree turn places one, two or three tree pieces and prepares the Cat again. The game supports one to four players, lasts about 45 minutes, and includes solo-play components.
