The Mayors and Messengers expansion brings new figures with unique abilities to the game Carcassonne. Gain the favor of the nobility with the mayor, move with the messenger, and occupy lucrative meadows with scarecrows. A strategically placed town hall will help you win, but it can also recall the mayor, so think carefully about your moves.

Incorporate mayors, messengers, and scarecrows into your game with the Mayors and Messengers expansion for Carcassonne. Like other expansions, this one cannot be played without the base game, but it can be combined with other expansions. This expansion introduces new figures with unique abilities and 12 new landscape tiles.

The mayor seeks the favor of the nobility. When his tile is surrounded on all four sides, you can exchange one of your opponent's knights for your own. Once you place the town hall tile, all adjacent territories on that side are considered closed. Mayors from adjacent tiles are called to the council and return to the supply. Send your messengers into the world, who are as strong as regular followers. After completing their journey, you can move the messenger to an adjacent city or another neighboring road.
