Kagemuša DVD

The powerful warlord Shingen became as legendary as the motto on his war banners: "Fast as the wind, silent as the forest, fierce as fire, immovable as a mountain." While lying and dying from his battle wounds, Shingen orders his clan to find a double to replace him and keep his death a secret. An unknown condemned thief is chosen for the role of the double. The shadow warrior, Kagemuša, must, however, gain the nobility of the ruler and lead an army of 25,000 samurai warriors into battle. Akira Kurosawa's epic drama Kagemuša, depicting feudal conflict in 16th century Japan, was nominated for two Academy Awards® in 1980 (Best Foreign Language Film, Best Art Direction) and won the top prize at the Cannes Film Festival in 1980.
