Description
In the thrilling western directed by John Sturges (Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, The Great Escape), screen legends Kirk Douglas and Anthony Quinn come together. Sheriff Matt Morgan's (Douglas) wife is murdered. The lawman vows to track down his wife's killer and bring him to justice. However, this promise is complicated by the fact that the father of the suspect is wealthy rancher Craig Belden (Quinn), with whom Morgan shares a long-standing friendship. Nevertheless, the sheriff is determined to capture the murderer and deport him on the last train at 9:00. Soon, he realizes he is alone against the entire town, where Belden and his men are trying to find him... and kill him. The masterful drama also features Carolyn Jones and Earl Holliman.
