Director Alan Parker (Evita, The Commitments) presents a look at the stories of students played by: Irene Cara (later awarded an Oscar®), Paul Crane (TV series ER), Barry Miller (Saturday Night Fever), and Gene Anthony Ray along with Leo Curreri. The film was nominated for six Oscars®, winning two for its outstanding dynamic music and title song.
