Description
Waring Hudsucker, the head of the highly successful Hudsucker Industries, commits suicide. His board of directors, led by Sidney Mussberger (Paul Newman), comes up with a brilliant plan to make a lot of money: appointing a fool as the new CEO. When the stock drops sufficiently, Sidney and his friends can buy it for a pittance, take over the company, and restore its wealth. They choose the naive and unsuspecting Norville Barnes (Tim Robbins), who has just started in the mailroom. Norville is silly enough to lead any company to ruin, but the relentless reporter Amy Archer soon suspects that something is wrong and begins a secret investigation into Hudsucker Industries.
