Description
In the film The Day the Earth Stood Still, a remake of the classic sci-fi film of the same name from 1951, renowned scientist Dr. Helen Benson (Jennifer Connelly) comes face to face with an alien named Klaatu (Keanu Reeves). He arrives on Earth with a single mission – to warn humanity of an impending global crisis. When forces that Helen cannot control begin to treat the alien as an intruder and refuse his request to speak with world powers, Helen, along with her estranged stepson Jacob (Jaden Smith), quickly uncovers the deadly consequences of Klaatu's claim that he is "a friend to Earth." Helen must now find a way to convince someone who holds the fate of our future existence in their hands that humanity is worth saving – but it may already be too late. The process has begun.
