The famous singer Kat Valdez (Jennifer Lopez) is preparing for her wedding to her colleague Bastian (Maluma). The ceremony is set to take place in grand style, in front of thousands of spectators in a concert hall and millions more online and on television. Just before the ramp takes her to the stage 'to the altar', however, Kat discovers that her beloved Bastian has been unfaithful. Humiliated, the singer makes an absolutely unexpected and shocking move. She decides to marry a guy in the crowd holding a sign that says 'Marry Me'. The lucky man is divorced math teacher Charlie (Owen Wilson), who definitely doesn't want to marry the singer. He came to the concert as the escort of his daughter and a colleague who adores Kat Valdez, and he just held the sign for a moment. Before he knows it, the organizers are dragging him onto the stage, where the disoriented and utterly shocked man says 'I do'. Of course, the promise could be annulled once the emotions settle, but the two face it head-on and decide to give it a try. What hope can a marriage have that was born under such incredible circumstances, especially between two completely different 'universes'?
