Morta Rifkin's marriage to his wife Sue has not been exactly idyllic for some time. Nevertheless, or perhaps precisely because of this, Mort accompanies his wife, journalist Sue, to the film festival in San Sebastian. He fears that her fascination with the young director Philippe may be more than just professional. Mr. Rifkin's Festival is full of absurd humor, blending imaginary situations with reality, romance with sorrow, and creating a loving tribute to the transformative power of film. Director and screenwriter Woody Allen once again enchants audiences with a multi-layered story.
