While a viral pandemic spreads across America, Wade Vogel (ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER) searches for his daughter Maggie (ABIGAIL BRESLIN), who has run away from home. When he finds her in a locked hospital ward, he immediately takes her home. However, Maggie is undergoing a painful transformation into a zombie. Wade is determined not to give up on his beloved daughter for as long as he can, and he refuses to turn her over to the local police.
