Description
STOCKHOLM describes real events from 1973, when the Central Stockholm Bank was absurdly attacked. Lars Nyström (Ethan Hawke) wants to use the captured hostages to free his partner Gunnar (Mark Strong) from prison. However, negotiations with the police and even with the Prime Minister himself come to a standstill, and hours of waiting stretch into days. Lars alternately threatens the hostages and carefully attends to their well-being. A specific relationship begins to develop among them, especially between Lars and the married official Bianca (Noomi Rapace), which later becomes known as the psychological phenomenon called 'Stockholm syndrome.'
