Description
This film tells the story of Lidice through the lives of ordinary people who, through an absurd chain of coincidences, become caught up in the course of history. Based on a screenplay by Zdeněk Mahler, it offers an unusual perspective on the tragic fate of Lidice during the Second World War, focusing on the inhabitants’ relationships, especially the love at the beginning of the story. An emotional historical drama, it shows how seemingly insignificant events can change the course of history and cause tragedy. The film stars Karel Roden, Zuzana Fialová, Roman Luknár, Zuzana Bydžovská, Ondřej Novák, Norbert Lichý, Veronika Kubařová, Václav Jiráček, Jan Budař and others, and is directed by Petr Nikolaev. The DVD features Czech Dolby Digital 5.1 audio, Czech subtitles for the hard of hearing, English, French, Hebrew, German and Spanish subtitles, and a 16:9 picture format. Bonuses include a making-of feature, photo gallery, music videos, interviews with the filmmakers and actors, a trailer and a teaser.
