Description
The second film in the saga of the dangerous journey to destroy the cursed Ring of Power begins where the first one ends. The hobbit Frodo remains the central character. After receiving the magical ring from his relative Bilbo, he becomes the focus of the struggle between the forces of light and darkness, as the Dark Lord Sauron desires the ring. As leader of a fellowship made up of his friends, a wizard, an elf, a dwarf and other companions, Frodo continues the journey to the summit of a volcano, where he intends to destroy the ring once and for all. The first film was nominated for a Golden Globe and received an AFI Award, while its success with audiences brought in more than 350 million dollars and convinced fans of the book that this now-classic story could be successfully filmed. The creators now present the second part of the fantastical journey with the same cast.
