Description
The album Jazzové nebajky, recorded in June 1972, is one of the highlights of the SHQ ensemble's discography. Ivan Poledňák stated in his review: "I must confess quite openly that I like this music; I think it belongs to the best recordings of the Velebný ensemble. It is jazzily 'self-evident' (which, as is known, is the most non-self-evident thing!), it has a rich atmosphere, it pulses with life, and sparkles with many subtle musical tricks (the deliberately 'naive' sound painting is precisely the pretext for them)." In a poll by the Czech Jazz Society (1998), Jazzové nebajky was declared the "best domestic jazz record before 1989."
