Description
A famous Czech fairy tale by Zdeněk Troška In a South Bohemian village, amidst silver ponds and dark forests, lives a handsome young man named Jindřich, who one day sets out into the world with a firm resolve to rescue a cursed princess. On his journey, he arrives at a spooky mill where a beautiful girl named Eliška lives with her father, the miller. The young man catches Eliška's eye, and she tells him that a princess is cursed in the pond, so he stays at the mill as an assistant. This does not please the local devil and water sprite, who both have their eyes on the miller's daughter. They try, with all their might, to drive the young man away from the mill through intrigues and magic. A third suitor appears at the mill: an old, rich nobleman, and since Eliška rejects all her suitors, the miller becomes angry. He sets a deadline: either she chooses a suitor by the full moon, or the one who first asks for her hand will get her.
