Description
In the game Café, players manage business companies that grow, process, and supply coffee to the most exclusive cafés during the Portuguese Belle Époque era.
In 1713, King John V sent the Gallic lieutenant Francisco de Melo Palheta to travel to French Guiana and secretly bring coffee tree seeds to Brazil (which was Portuguese at the time). By 1800, Brazil was already one of the largest coffee producers in the world.
Drinking coffee became very popular in Portugal, and by the early 20th century, coffee beans from Brazil, São Tomé, Prince Island, Angola, and Timor were part of the most prized blends.
The game also includes the Expresso expansion.
