Description
Stéphane recently joined a special criminal unit in Montfermeil, a suburb of Paris. Together with his colleagues Chris and Gwada – both experienced team members – he quickly notices the rising tension between neighboring gangs. When they find themselves on the run during an arrest, a drone captures their every move, every action. Inspired by the riots of 2005, director Ladj Ly sets his film in contemporary Montfermeil, the same place where Victor Hugo's famous 'Les Misérables' took place in 1862. More than 150 years later, the similarity between today's angry youth in hoodies and Gavroche, the main character of 'Les Misérables', is more than evident.
